New Moon Reflections

New Moon

The new moon is the time in the lunar cycle when the moon moves conjunct the sun; the moon has moved into the same location as the sun in the cosmos. For that reason, whenever it is a new moon the sun and the moon are both in the same zodiac sign.

The sun is no longer illuminating the moon and she goes dark. This is the moons time to retreat, just like any other life cycle, we all must take time to regenerate and renew.

There are typically 12 new moons per calendar year, one in each of the zodiac signs. On occasion, you will get two within the same sign.
